Wedding Ready Beauty: Nails

Your nails are another important part of your wedding look.

They will be photographed, so you should invest some time and care in them.

Below are some tips to make sure your nails look picture perfect on your wedding day!

Nail Care

Having great looking nails starts before your nail appointment or manicure before your wedding. Just like your hair, you should start taking care of your nails months in advance. Whether you have short or long nails, good care will ensure beautiful fingertips for your big day.

Your hands need a lot of moisture! You are constantly washing your hands throughout the day, making it necessary for you to keep moisturizing them constantly as well. You should have a hand cream or an essential oil at reach to moisturize your hands constantly.

Moisturizing your hands will not only benefit the look and feel of your hands but will also promote nails growth. Healthy cuticles promote nail growth an strength.

I personally try to stock up on Bath & Body Works hand cream when it is on sale or apply Argan Oil (I get mine from Trader Joe's) and try to apply regularly throughout the day, making sure to massage it in. Castor oil is also another great essential oil to promote healthy growth.

I also make sure to take my "hair, skin & nails" collagen supplement every day. Hydration and nutrition is a key factor as well.

Nail Designs

You can either choose to go to a nail salon or with your favorite nail technician and get your nails done, but another way to save some serious money is to do your nails yourself. You can go for a more natural bridal look or paint your nails a brighter color (a blue maybe, for your "something blue").

It's good to have some pictures for inspiration when you go with your nail technician. Whether you get acrylics, gel, or shellac nails, it's important to get something you will love.

This is the reason why many brides get something more natural. Your nails could really also be an added accessory to your bridal look, so you do you.

The only thing that you would have to invest in (if you do not have them already) is in a good base, nail color, protective top coat, cuticle pusher and maybe a cuticle clipper/cutter (if you decide on cutting them off).

Below are some really simple, soft, and pretty nail designs you can make easily at home:
